Boost your Confidence Now – A Better Life Podcast – Overcoming Adversity

When you can boost your confidence and trust in yourself more from within, dealing with  adversity can be a not-so-difficult matter.

We all have at one time or another felt like we needed to begin searching for how to begin improving self-esteem when feeling lost from our desires and ambitions.

Perhaps it seemed like a wrecking ball attacked your life.

You must also gain an awareness that the confidence in your real strength is fully justified in every respect and in all circumstances.

There is a place within you where there is perfect peace, and in this session below of For A Better Life Podcast, we will explore together more on rising above adversity and overcoming life challenges.

My goal is to show you that your ego-based self–that fearful and self-doubting, judgmental aspect in us all, can do none of these things.

We’re going to see how to build self-confidence by realizing that there is another way of looking at the world, so that you can design the life you want to live.

Yes, “For a better life,” we may say.

Let’s begin with this exercise I’ve put together from a lesson in the Course in Miracles workbook, which I use when I am up against dealing with adversity or other life challenges:

In this exercise sit in a comfortable position and get a great in/out breathing technique going, while repeating these words within yourself:

  • “There is another way of looking at the world. God is the strength in which I trust.”

Take this deep within yourself, contemplate it, and be at-one with these words.

Next, let go of all trivial things that are holding you back in life, they are only on the surface of your mind, because the ego cannot go deep within due to its fears.

There is a place where nothing is impossible. This is where the strength of God abides within you.

Understand it is obvious that any situation that causes you concern is associated with these feelings of needing self-esteem help–otherwise you would believe that you could deal with the situation successfully.

The recognition of your own fear and frailty when dealing with adversity is a necessary step in the correction of your errors.

But it is hardly sufficient to boost your confidence and give you the strength you need, and to which you are entitled.

You will feel the ego’s self-doubt try to nudge you from your resolve by insisting you are still inadequate in rising above adversity.

Let’s take these well-intended and loving lessons to another level–to the level where your real mind, your real inner power to tap into, and your real self can boost your confidence and overcome adversity.

If you are trusting in power and strength on your own, you have every reason to be apprehensive, anxious, fearful, doubting, and lonely.

Now when you practice the exercise, try to reach deep in your mind to a place of real safety.

This will take all the truth that you are about. Go ahead, find it now.

It is not by trusting yourself that you will gain confidence, but rather you will come to sense, feel, and know the strength of God in you as successful in all things.

  • What is there in yourself you can control or predict?
  • What is there in you that can be counted on?

Then answer, “What is in you that gives you the recognition of the right solution, and the guarantee that you CAN climb out of that seemingly difficult hole and overcome adversity, and achieve the life you deserve?

Try to see in this exercise that you may now want to add a few extra words, and, say something like:

  • “There is another way of looking at the world, and I now know and see clearly that God is the strength in which I trust, for all life challenges I must face head on.”

Try to put a rhythm to this as you start your day and going about your day, because what you are doing is now trying to slip past all concerns related to your own sense of needing self-esteem help.

You sense an inadequacy you do NOT truly have. Your ego does, but not you.

We often seem to be running out of steam when we needed it the most–then feeling more miserable over our loss of purpose or energy.

Even more miserable contemplating the effort you may see ahead of you just trying to get back on your feet and boost your confidence to overcome adversity.

You, like me, may have been taught to trust yourself.

We’ve heard these words before:

“Just tell yourself you can do it”, or “You can do anything you set your mind to.” And my favorite, “Work a little bit harder and you’ll make it.”

His protection is guaranteed.

There are no exceptions because God has no exceptions, and the Voice that speaks for Him knows all of this.

A Course in Miracles states, “His Voice speaks for Him in all situations, telling you exactly what to do in order to call upon His strength.”

“There is another way of looking at the world.”

  • Who can put their faith in weakness and feel safe?.
  • On the flip side of the coin, who can put their faith in strength and feel weak?
  • God is your safety in every circumstance, and is how you can overcome adversity.

He is in you, and His appointed Voice–the Holy Spirit–your natural inner Guide, does the communicating.

And, if you need help on a breathing meditation exercise, I highly suggest this mindfulness practice–a system used by many professionals.

You will start to boost your confidence and recognize that you’ve reached it if you feel a sense of deep peace and security, however brief it may be.

I want you to reach past your own weakness to your Source of your own real strength. Only you know how to locate it.

To believe that you can is to put your trust where how to build self-confidence is always with you in every situation.

But remember that the ego will like to sneak in on you and sensing more misery  contemplating the effort you see ahead of us just trying to get back on your feet and overcome adversity.

Think again of what is in you that gives you the strength of the answer for the right solution, and the guarantee that you will boost your confidence and climb out of that seemingly difficult hole.

What is it in you that says, “You will prevail and overcome life challenges, while achieving the life you deserve?”

Again, here is your exercise with a few of your own words added to the tail for dealing with what only seems to be life’s hardships:

  • “There is another way of looking at the world, and I now can see that God is the strength in which I trust, therefore I no longer need to learn how to gain confidence.”

Next, now that you’re seeing how to take an inward journey to boost your confidence against hurdles in life, let’s move on to what you can do in your material, or, exterior world, to be all you can be in this world.

Ways to Rise Above a Confidence Crisis

Sometimes how much money we make—meaning lacking, or not enough, and so forth, might bring on a confidence crisis.

No matter how much you make, how quickly you discover yourself broadening your life, or how much fulfillment your gain from your existence in this world, you can have a self-confidence crisis.

In some cases, things take place that knock the self-confidence right out of us.

Sometimes, our self-confidence is unstable as an outcome of a shift or loss and a single occurrence, like missing out on a due date, getting a bad hairstyle, or spilling coffee on a file can send us storming out of the self-confidence breakfast cafe.

When you crash and feel you need to boost your confidence, it is typically since your day-to-day plan of life has not consisted of enough self-confidence triggering food for thoughts.

You have to take obligation for preparing your self-confidence abundance and why I urge you to take seriously the meditation exercises, and making sure you have a, ‘dealing with adversity’ strength about you.

When you feel you need self-esteem help, do not fret so much or anguish, do not reach for the bottle of bourbon or the ice-cream.

You will get a lot more than self-confidence – you will discover to enjoy, honor and value yourself more and more.

Keep a Personal Self-Help Library

Keeping at your immediate reach a group of CD’s, videos, books, DVD’s, or other content, perhaps bookmark my blog, and hey, I’d love you to have my books in your home or office.

Requiring yourself to listen and learn from within you, every day, likewise requires you to set time for everyday reflection.

Practicing reflection principles (one of my favorites right here with a free e-book) can assist you to strengthen what you understand, exactly what you have actually discovered, and exactly what you still have to take notice of.

Expressing Gratitude

Practice appreciation – be grateful for exactly what you currently have and put your attention on all the true blessings you currently have.

This will assist you in feeling richer and more powerful in character and that equates into self-confidence.

Assess Your Relationships

All relationships go through changes with time; some get much better, some get even worse.

If you have relationships in your life that are more of a concern than a pleasure, it might be time to sever your ties – or at least loosen up the reins.

Start New Relationships

Determine individuals that have the qualities you appreciate—individuals you feel you might motivate you and who might be inspired by you.

Try to find individuals you can have a good time with. Enhancing or boost your confidence can be truly enjoyable, if you desire it to be.

A Good Group to Hang Out with

This might be time for a conventional support system.

Talking over a cup of carrot juice (coffee is fine) with newer friends along with older friends may be a solution.

Arrange your very own group of self-confidence boosters and support each other in making modifications.

Always Consider your Attitude

Exactly what do you do that improves your self-confidence means staying on top and in control of that bratty childlike ego-based mind filled with doubt and fear, and exactly what do you do that lets the ego control you.

The Course in Miracles states, “The temptation of the ego becomes extremely intense with this shift in goals.”

Workout or light exercise regularly and getting sufficient sleep, speaking your mind and dressing well are habits of highly effective individuals, and is also how successful people grow.

Quickly run through your thinking about all the successful people who you have admired, how they made it to the top, and how and what they had to do keep on climbing away from adversity.

All of this has the tendency to boost your confidence.

Keeping up late, investing all your time with late night TV and stating “yes” frequently to prevent conflict when you actually wish to state “no” will bring your self-confidence down.

Let your Opinions be Heard

When we keep interaction since we are ego-based afraid of how we will be considered and looked upon, we chip away another bit of our self-confidence.

The irrelevant circumstances will be practiced for the crucial events that are sure to follow.

Take a Little Risk each Day

A tiny risk hurts no one and is something you would be quick to do if you understood you would be effective and profitable.

The finest method to boost your confidence is to begin doing things you are scared to do, and then when it comes time to face one of life’s obstacles you will deal with the adversity just fine.

In some cases, it takes more than a couple of days to gain confidence, often, it takes a couple of weeks, or so.

The Course in Miracles further states, “This is a time for faith. You let this goal be set for you, and it becomes an act of faith.”

Periodically it can take a couple of months to conquer your fears and on to building tremendous confidence. I discovered that when I took on keynote speaking in front of large audiences.

Just keep in mind always that no matter what you income level is, or your education level, big, tall, short, need to lose weight, or need to do better in a relationship issue, of whatever the case may be, you will get the life you want by being the Real you.

You have to take a responsibility for keeping the ego-based mind in the back seat of your journey through this world while Spirit does the driving.

Make sense?

I hope so!

Continuing to invest in fear and self-doubt only feeds the ego, but only the Spirit in you can move forward in life and find happiness.

Often, it takes a couple of days to boost your confidence which really means not allowing your fears of this world to run your life.

(Here’s a related healing article about dealing with adversity were facing challenges in life are overcome by keep pushing forward.)
