Building self-esteem truly can be a simple feat. It reflects our inner self-worth that we use to lead a happy life. The most essential place for building self-esteem, of course, is within you.
We must keep our self-confidence in order to value ourselves as a worthy person in this world.
When it is well balanced, gaining self-confidence affects every single part of our lives, and if it is low an unpleasant experience in life. Building self-esteem and how to build self-confidence is the secret to finding happiness in life.
The Course in Miracles reminds us that, “When you are sad, know this need not be.”
It is very important that when you aim for gaining self-confidence, it is not at the level of thinking you are “much better,” or more “superior” to another, but rather it is at a level where you are great with the real inner you, as well as, others and in the world.
It is an essential element of self-confidence to have self-love.
When we believe we are much better than other people, or more superior, that’s simply ego-based false sense of self, getting in the way as plain arrogance, and is finest avoided at all costs.
Most people’s sensations and thoughts about themselves fluctuate rather based on their day-to-day experiences.
The grade you get on an examination, how your friends treat you, ups and downs in a romantic relationship-all can have a short-term effect on your overall wellness.
If you are in the selling profession, for example, you might believe you are an outstanding sales individual when you have sold 7 out of 9 items, but not when you only get 2 out of 9 sold.
You are the same individual whether you are offering 2 items or 7 items. It is important to separate your habits and exactly what it “suggests” about you.
Instead of commemorating that you made 7 sales and being anguished when you only made 2 sales, celebrate the fact that you are engaged in the art of selling.
Building self-esteem is in enjoying the actions you take, instead of completion or outcome.
Since you will be thinking how excellent you are for just being out there selling something, then that thought process of whether you sell 2 or 7 is irrelevant.
As the Course in Miracles teaches, “The light in you shines as brightly regardless of the density of the fog that obscures it.”
Your own self-confidence, nevertheless, is something more basic than the typical “downers and highs” related to situational changes.
For people who always have excellent fundamental self-confidence, typical “emotional roller coaster down and up rides,” may lead to temporary variations in how they feel about themselves, but only to a minimal extent.
In contrast, for individuals who have had trouble with how to build self-confidence and building self-esteem, these “emotional rides of ups and downs” might make all the difference on the planet.
Building self-esteem is based on our ability to examine ourselves precisely, and I mean to know ourselves within, and still have the ability to accept and to value ourselves unconditionally.
This indicates having the ability to realistically acknowledge our limitations and strengths, which is part of being human, and at the exact same time accepting ourselves as worthwhile and deserving without conditions.
Gaining self-confidence to levels that will improve your life and the manner in how you see life is a journey worth embarking on.
Knowing strategies for building self-esteem can be taught and put into practice in just a few days.
(Here’s more on how to develop self-confidence and self-worth and let go of a scarcity mentality for good!)
There is a typical misconception that individuals with a great level of self-confidence feel great about the love they have for the wholeness that they are, every day, always, and never have to do any work to keep themselves there, however that is just not true.
No, these people love their inner beauty because they work at continuing to be whole-hearted and with minimal inner conflict.
The Course in Miracles states, “Only love is strong because it is undivided.”
Nobody goes to the health club for a few weeks after many years of inactivity and expects to be completely fit within weeks.
Nobody would go to the fitness center for a couple of weeks and then choose to think they have gone enough and don’t have to work out any longer.
No one would go to the health club after years of lack of exercise, get fit, and then never return once again.
They will have to return regularly each week to maintain their physical fitness levels.
Why then do people believe that gaining self-confidence is something they can master in a weekend, or within weeks?
Why is it individuals complain and moan if after a few months of dealing with their self-confidence they are thinking better about themselves, but are still slipping back?
Why is it that some people believe as soon as they hear about some fantastic self-confidence tips they can just stop, and that is should remain that way permanently?
Possibly I will never understand the answer to those concerns I just mentioned!
What I ask is that you get prepared to commit yourself to however long it takes when you seek and find self-confidence tips as you are doing right now by reading this article.
The time is going to go anyhow so why not be productively working on building self-esteem until it is immediately incorporated into your whole being, and even then accept that often your life will not always go as well planned.
However that does not have to affect exactly what you think, perceive, and know about the real you.
Again, for people with wonderful self-confidence, the regular “highs and lows of an emotional ride” might lead to short-term variations in how they feel about themselves, but just to a limited level.
In contrast, for people with low self-esteem and bad fundamental self-confidence, these “downs and ups” just may wake them up and make all the difference in the world.
So, that said, building self-esteem and gaining self-confidence to levels that will improve your life and how you look at life is a journey worth moving forward on.
