Are we simply a body with a personality? From my understanding, your higher-self is much more than that. Every one of us has a higher consciousness, some tap into it and others do not.
In this brief article I wish to simply ramble a bit about the meaning of meeting your higher self, or learning to get to the center of self-awareness.
I hope this makes sense by the time you read this.
This greater self-awareness has actually been generally called your higher-self. If I am not incorrect, others have likewise described it as meeting your higher-self.
From my experience, the Higher Self is the intelligence and knowledge element of our own self-awareness.
Ironically, your higher-self is impersonal and does not have a ‘sense of self’ like the ways our body seems to carry on.
The Course in Miracles has helped me to see that this higher consciousness can be tapped into where we operate from there while in this world?
Normally it is perfected through higher-self meditation, or some may use the term mindfulness meditation. It’s about understanding oneness of mind.
Back in 1986, I remember, because it was around the time my 2nd daughter, Megan, was born, I discovered that if I am thinking in depth about a subject that is of spiritual questions, I will in some cases receive pure thoughts.
I have since learned to call this purest of thought an inner voice that answers my questions and guides me along while in this world.
When I don’t listen, I get off course.
Your higher-self will interact by showing signs and visions that form messages into your self-awareness, if you are paying attention.
An example of such transmissions you might be familiar with hearing about:
Some years earlier, I was considering the nature of the cycle of reincarnation.
Will lost souls be forever looped within the lower world? (According to many Eastern Beliefs, Beings who had actually not achieved enlightenment will be caught in a vicious cycle of continuous birth and rebirth.)
Suddenly, from no place, I received a pure thought, a transmission we may say, from beyond my higher consciousness.
It came as a ‘package’ … like a burst of state of minds and images/symbols.
Very fast, flash impressions.
The package appeared to be revealed by the ideal hemisphere of my brain. My brain naturally attempted to translate the transmission.

How do I understand it wasn’t my creativity?
Well, to start with I do not believe in pictures. I think in languages; English, Mandarin, etc. The transmitted images were carrying out a ‘dual-split’ to my consciousness.
That is, the pure thought and images are at the same time overlaying my visual perception of the environment around me.
Well, a ‘dual-split’ in awareness is certainly not the normal way my mind works!
The animated vision was set against a light greenish-blue background. Due to the fact that the transmission was so fast, I believe I may have had lost some essential info.
Please realize that it was my physical brain that did this interpretation.
The transmission is attempting to undo errors in my thinking, or rather complete some of the incompleteness within my understanding of the scheme of things.
The Course in Miracles states, “When vision is denied, confusion of cause and effect becomes inevitable.”
The cycle of cause and effect as one, is never ever meant to last forever, but only while we’re in this world.
Ultimately we all as a oneness of being, will return back to our Source or essence we may call Home, or Heaven.
In the total oneness, or, wholeness of Heaven—which is the Mind of God, cause and effect is not necessary, because at that point we will have been completely healed, or, awakened.
Well, that transmission was several years earlier. My understanding on that matter has been refined ever since.
However, the transmission was proper (to my level of understanding) at that time.
Over the years, these pure thought transmissions from my higher consciousness, together with the assistance of enlightened deep studying and my writing, have helped me to understand the dynamics of higher consciousness and the real eternity—rather than some fable or fairytale.
