Being that the ego is man-made and finite, it’s always feeling stress and is anxious to get nowhere.
The ego-based mind aspect in we humans idolizes bodies too much and can’t find the success it is seeking.
I mean, even for Divinity purposes, and wishes its own to be more than what it is. These ego illusions seem to be quite specific.
The ego resists this abstract oneness; it dreams about occupying a small part of the mind as separate.
The image of Adam and Eve departing from Paradise feeling stress is a symbolic representation.
Yes, I mean of the splitting-off of the ego from the Oneness of God: the separation.
The ego must depend on the concrete because that is all it can understand. As well, it needs to feel concrete to believe in its own survival.
The other is based on the body’s death, birth, and sickness, with survival methods in between.
This latter thought system is the ego, which is fearful of anything that is not concrete, including God.
The ego loves to put the “fear of God” into its idolizing and calls it worship.

The ego perceives everything as a separate whole, including other people. The ego is not evil, nor is it the devil– although the ego will quite often project a concrete image of evil, perhaps an angry old man with horns growing out of his head who lives in fire.
Keep in mind the Course in Miracles teaches us:
- “Every thought you have makes up some segment of the world you see. It is with your thoughts then, that we must work, if your perception of the world is to be changed.”
Simply put, the ego is nothing more than the “wrong-minded” side of, or corner of, or piece of, the whole mind; it’s the piece that made the error of dreaming up a separate thought from that of reality.

Final Words on Letting Go of Stress and Anxiety:
The ego in us must depend on feeling stress over concrete issues because it’s this aspect in us dealing for it’s own survival based on fear and doubt
