Resistance to Change Now for How to Release Stress and Anxiety in your Life

Resistance to change is a regular response geared around our fears and doubts as humans.

So recognize that it’s OKAY, but as well you can do something about it by understanding why.

In this article I want discuss in a spiritual metaphysical sense why we just can’t seem to release stress at times.

When I say “metaphysical” I mean the fundamental nature of our being and of the universe.

As you contemplate this article consider this spiritual metaphysical principle from A Course in Miracles:

  • “Be very still an instant. Come without all thought of what ever learned before, and put aside all images you made. The old will fall away before the new without your opposition or intent.”

Emphasis on what you can regulate including your personal approval of matters is in your power.

I mean you have the power of choice to release, or surrender, anything outside your control.

The ego which is that doubting and fearful as well judgmental aspect in we humans is always resistance to change.

It is never “certain,” but tries to be “sure” of itself.

Likewise is sure it can gain if it can get by certain obstacles.

God is always certain about all that is real and doesn’t recognize what is unreal. It’s simply because the unreal doesn’t exist.

God’s certainty is you.

The sureness of the ego leaves room for doubt by raising resistance to change, leading to conflict.

Anything that is certain is changeless and has no room for resistance, let alone doubt.

Think about it. Don’t you honestly know when you are putting up some resistance to change about anything?

Even if you resist the fact that you are indeed resistance to change, is a certainty.

So we can say that a part of you is always certain that another side to you is resisting.

But in reality, the part of you which is certain can never side with the resisting part of you. How could you even if you tried to, side with what is unreal?

The point in all of this is with certainty, it is impossible for God and the ego to ever meet.

This means that your real self and the ego never have nor ever will have the possibility of communicating together.

How can the unreal send a message to the real?

It tries to and the message is received by the unreal side of you.

(Here’s another recommended related article on: When you think ‘where I can find truth to change my life,’ learn more about cause and effect:)

Doesn’t this seem like the practice of insanity?

Likewise would this mean that we have two or multiple sides to us that are unreal holding us back in life?

Are we blind to our real possibilities and full potential?

Now you are understanding ego projections and assumptions. I mean the illusions stopping your way in life, which are sources of stress in our lives.

A Course in Miracles further states: “A blindfold can indeed obscure your sight, but cannot make the way itself grow dark.”

It seems as though these sides meet when we make strange judgments on the grounds that have either no meaning or multiple meanings.

Our physical judgments build beliefs based on a body which is the ego’s home. Haven’t we believed it’s our home, too?

Think seriously about this:

Haven’t we always pictured Christ as a human body? But how can a body live eternally? Do you feel a resistance to these questions?

The duality or the multiplicity of the ego mind plays tricks with us, where we may find it difficult to release stress.

This is why I urge that you learn how to do mindfulness meditation, taking you within to your real power Source.

If you want to learn meditation I suggest this 7 Minute Mindfulness practice that I use and just love it.

The ego only sees the physical, or the images it projects in order to cover up guilt. Which, guilt over anything, by the way, is of the main sources of stress and anxiety.

You make a mistake, an error in your own judgement, and your body faces another stressful situation.

What I mean is, your ego thinks it joins you with the illusion you have of yourself as a body.

You are doing the projecting of images, and the ego is the image.

So how can you share anything real with an image?

You can’t because the unreal cannot join the real you.

Projections certainly are not life. But you can be “sure” of an image that may later be proven erroneous. As well, have a slight alteration to its appearance.

Aren’t we always sure “what we saw is what we saw?” A place called nothingness is where you as the projector seem to meet the image.

A theater screen so to speak holds the images and, you seem to meet two or three each day which are new.

Likewise a thousand or so more may wait in line, with over seven billion worldwide.

Yes, as this place in the universe you call home.

These images that you project are all meaningless, and the gain each strives to achieve.

This stressful, anxiety filled type of battle against ourselves is almost over if we truly want it to be.

We can end the war on ourselves, the hungry can eat good food and the homeless can sleep under good shelter.

That is, if we’ll only let go of the projected images and take responsibility for our lives.

The pain and conflict ends once we realize we have a choice to make, and begin managing our resistance to change.

Is it love and forgiveness we want in our lives and around the world, or is it guilt and fear? When will we personally decide?

Or, is it a decision that humanity as a whole is not yet willing to make?
