Exercise: My self consciousness Is Deep within Me
We all have our bad days, moments, and periods of dire frustration. If it’s not one thing, it’s more of something else trying to get under our skin.
This bedtime mindfulness meditation exercise has helped me achieve extremely beneficial results when finding me lost, alone, and away from my reality.
I have written this meditation using various principles contained in A Course in Miracles, as well as from insight of Henry David Thoreau in his various essays where he expressed ideas that helped him through times of lonely depressed and despair.
This is designed to help you realize that your unique self consciousness reverses all the laws of the world. We’ll go beyond all the laws of time, space, distance, and limits of any kind.
The self consciousness that you are is totally unlimited in its power because it establishes you as an integral part of the Creation—at-one with the Mind of God.
Through your own self consciousness the power of God makes manifest.
His power works through you.
In other words, the real you, your true essence, is necessary in the creative power that is available to each of us.
There is nothing this power can’t do. Your own self consciousness can remove all pain, can end all sorrow, and can solve all problems. It can do so with you or in connection with anyone else.
Look at it this way:
If you are holy and of real divine Consciousness, then so is everything God created.
But the most important part of this for you to grasp is to see this in a different aspect, which is, all that God created is holy, because you are.
Is this an arrogant thought to have? Only to the ego.
Try to see in this sense of wholeness, that you are all that God created and nothing else. Without you there is nothing else because there would not be a Whole Child of God.
The wholeness of God cannot exist without you.
This is why you must thereby be eternal. Isn’t this simple to understand when you look at it in this light?
Once you can accept this as pure knowledge within yourself, your individual self consciousness will illuminate everywhere in a confidence true to your heart.
Now that you understand this part, the idea of the exercise ahead will eventually bring you to overcome completely the sense of lonely depressed and abandonment that your separated thought system can often experience.
Depression is an inevitable consequence of separation.
Likewise, are anxiety, worry, and deep sense of hopelessness, misery, suffering, and intense fear of loss.
All of these and more are reasons for the many problems plaguing relationships. Think about it. Can you really extend love when you are under the gun of these bad guys?

Self Consciousness will Awaken You from Feeling Lonely and Depressed
The separated thought system of this world has invented many “cures” for what is believed to be the “ills of the world.”
One thing these cures don’t do is question the reality of the problem. Yet its effects cannot be cured because the problem is not real.
The idea in this exercise has the power to end all of this foolishness forever in your mind.
It may not seem like foolishness to you while you’re experiencing them, but it is terribly so foolish, despite the serious and tragic forms it may take.
Take some time now while you absorb my message and try to think as deeply as you can, but do so naturally, within yourself, that everything is perfect and radiates through you and in the minds of all the world.
This is not foolishness.
The radiance illuminating from you will heal all sorrow and pain and fear and loss, because it will heal the mind that thought these things were real.
I also want you to keep in your heart this spiritual metaphysical principle from A Course in Miracles:
- Miracles are everyone’s right, but purification is necessary first. Miracles are healing because they supply a lack; they are performed by those who temporarily have more for those who temporarily have less.
Keep in mind that this mind you are healing has already suffered out all of its allegiance to these harmful thoughts.
You can never be deprived of your perfect self consciousness, because its Source goes with you wherever you go.
You can never suffer because the Source of all healing and joy goes with you wherever you go.
You may say you already know this, but you continue to seek for Divinity outside yourself; your prayers, etc. …
It’s quite understandable that you do not believe all of this, because the ego-based mind has made your beliefs.
How could you possibly understand this when truth is deep within you under a heavy cloud of insane thoughts, dense and obscuring, yet representing all that you see?
But now you must make your first real attempt to get past this dark and thick cloud cover, and simply step through it to the Light beyond.

Bedtime Mindfulness Meditation is my Saving Grace
Choose a period of time each day that suits you best. My favorite is bedtime mindfulness meditation.
Sit quietly for three to five minutes with your eyes closed.
At the beginning of the practice period repeat slowly to yourself: “In this situation involving my (hostility), there is nothing my own self consciousness cannot do, because God goes with me wherever I go.”
Be sure to substitute a word or phrase that fits your situation and the problem you suffer from, whatever that might be.
The illusive feelings of your separated thought system that are bothersome to you must be addressed.
Try to get a sense of turning inward, going past all the idle and wasteful thoughts of the illusive outer world.
Yes, try to enter deep into your mind but with minimal effort, relax, keeping it clear of thoughts that might divert your attention.
Please note the “minimal effort,” because straining and tightening you with squinting eyes is nothing more than trying to exhort brain energy.
This is not what this or any of our exercises, prayers, and meditations are about.
The key is to relax, and the amount of time should be brief, because it is bringing forward the self consciousness in you that is important here.
From time to time throughout your day you may want to repeat the idea as reinforcement. You’re trying to sink down and inward, away from the world and all its foolish thoughts.
You want to reach past all these things. You want to leave appearances, by approaching your reality. This is where you clearly reach God.
In fact, it’s extremely easy because it is the most natural thing in the world. It’s called “being your true self.” You might even want to accept that it is the only natural thing in the world.
As you naturally go deep within yourself, with your eyes closed, you may experience a mix of colors racing across the darkness of your shut eyelids.
I have often experienced a glow of white luminous light around particular images in my mind. For me this has become routine.
For myself, bedtime mindfulness meditation is the way will open up to you if you know, instead of believe, that it is possible to be in touch with your innermost self.
The exercise can bring startling results for self consciousness.
Certainly, even the first time it is attempted, and sooner or later it is always successful.
As this article and my book series opens up for you, we will be going into more detail about this kind of mindset that will advance you along your intended path.
Isn’t it really about love?
Use this bedtime mindfulness meditation exercise and tailor it to your comfort zone.
Absolutely, and find a time of day where you can make this a routine, so you can banish all the problems that are holding you down, or making you feel like a prisoner.
Believe me, I do know that being a prisoner is no fun. Let’s repeat slowly with eyes closed: “In this situation involving my (lonely depressed), there is nothing my own self consciousness cannot do, because God goes with me wherever I go.”
Think effortlessly about what you are saying; what the words mean to you. Concentrate on the self consciousness they imply about you.
Also, contemplate the everlasting companionship that is yours, and on the complete security that surrounds you.
You will begin in an instant to laugh at your thoughts of turmoil by remembering that God goes with you wherever you go.
Now you’re ready to explore why we wish for that special relationship, and the fear involved, which is the fire that seems to burn us.
